Sport and Performance Psychology

My sport and performance experience includes interventions for individuals, teams, and team personnel. I have worked with athletes and performers at a variety of levels: club, high school, college, and professional. I address the following issues and more to facilitate peak levels of performance:

  • Mindfulness and being in the moment

  • Building a growth mindset

  • Focus and attention 

  • Reducing performance anxiety/nerves

  • Injury concerns and recovery

  • Improving and developing skills for emotion regulation

  • Finding enjoyment and "the zone" when performing

  • Evaluating, developing, and refining pre-, during, and post- training and competition routines

  • Goal setting and working through difficult outcomes

  • Evaluating, building, and reinforcing confidence

 

Program Planning and Evaluation

I have collaboratively created, implemented, and evaluated a variety of programs for athletic teams and human service providers. I enjoy opportunities to fully integrate my clinical, performance, and programming backgrounds to help organizations work towards their goals and needs. My work emphasizes personalized approaches to specifically meet the defined needs of the population.

 

Clinical Psychology

My clinical interests, training, and capabilities are varied--including:

  • Anxiety and Depressive disorders

  • Body Focused Repetitive Disorders, or BFRBs, which include trichotillomania (hair pulling) and excoriation disorder (sometimes called dermatillomania or skin picking)

  • Interpersonal concerns

  • Adjustment to life events

  • Mindfulness-based interventions for stress reduction

 

Examples of treatment include:

  • Comprehensive behavioral treatment for trichotillomania/excoriation disorder

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy

  • Mindfulness meditation

  • Dialectical behavioral therapy

  • Integrated empirically supported interventions

Academic Coaching

I have experience and interest in working with high school, college, and graduate students to develop pragmatic and useful strategies for academic success such as:

  • Time management

  • More efficient study sessions

  • Basic study skill enhancement

  • Test anxiety reduction

Individual, Group, and Virtual Services
